2 Timothy 1 Says that Jesus saved us & called us with a holy calling according to His OWN Purpose & grace – granted in Christ Jesus from ALL ETERNITY.
This takes away any of our own works to ‘GET’ this salvation. How could we ‘get’ it, if it was from eternity as a gift? How can we, after receiving a gift, then say, oh I will earn this now’?
This wipes out EVERY act of our own. OUR cooperation, OUR decision, must be made, I was told.
It sounds to me like Jesus decided on His own Who was going to save me. I now see it was the ultimate pride to know that Jesus was slain before the foundation of the world, before I was ever born into a body, & then to agree that I had a role in my saving & it was by the mere words of my prayer.
Thank God it is free! Thank God it is for ALL!
Ephesians 4:4-6— There is ONE body and one Spirit, just as you also were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father OF ALL who is over ALL and through ALL and IN ALL.
This was His choice, HIS purpose & grace, how could a decision of my own ever override His purpose & decision
To think this way sounds a lot like: ‘the son of destruction who opposes & exalts himself & takes his seat in the temple of God (remember this temple is our body)… displaying himself as being God’!
